In an effort to better serve our clients and to take advantage of the most advanced technology available, Davis & Giardino has developed IRIS, our Internet Resource and Information Server. This computer system is unique in the industry in that it gives clients an opportunity to examine pertinent portions of their defense counsel's file 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any location that has Internet access. Imagine being in an airport with the need to review an experts medical report. You have no access to a fax machine but still need the information immediately. Through IRIS, you would contact the firms computer system directly and be able to review, download or even print this document. There is no need to contact counsel and hope he or she is available in order to obtain a copy of the report. Instead, you simply download the document from the firm's system thereby incurring no cost for attorney time, paralegal time or a long distance phone call. Clients that wish to operate on a paperless basis can now do so by simply downloading documents from the system instead of receiving them by mail or fax. Again, this reduces costs in terms of photocopies and postage. As the system itself is free to all clients the cost savings will be significant. Access to IRIS will be limited to those clients that wish to participate and will be password protected. All data will be housed in a server located on site and will be protected by a firewall specifically designed for this program. As the site is password protected, clients will only be able to examine files which they have assigned to the firm and not the files of other clients. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the information located on the server is secure and can be accessed by clients only.

One additional benefit provided by IRIS is that it will give our clients access to the most recent case law available. May defense firms publish news letters or bulletins summarizing recent changes in law. Oftentimes these documents are ignored or discarded simply because they do not provide all of the information needed by the client. With IRIS, the full text of recent case law will be available for review. The firm will contact each client to advise them that new case law has been posted on the server and will provide a brief summary of the cases available. If a client is interested in a particular case, they can access the server and download the full text of the opinion. With the flexibility that this system provides, it can be tailored to the specific needs of a client. If a client is interested in certain administrative rulings or agency reports, likewise these can be placed on the server and updated as needed by the client. The key to the system is its ability to provide all information the client desires at no cost and reduce overall litigation expenses.
